- v3.25.70
Invite links for new team members
An invited teammate had to work out unaided that they must sign in with the exact address the invitation went to, and the wrong account left them on a spinner that timed out with no explanation. Each invitation now carries its own link, bound to that address - copy it from the Team page and send it. The right account signs in and lands in your firm; the wrong one is named and refused.
- v3.25.70
Save a binder's mapping straight to the firm library
Reusing a mapping meant downloading the Tax Template Report to Excel and importing that file back in - the mapping never left the product. Save to Library now sits beside Download and writes it into the firm Tax Template Library, named from the client and binder, carrying the form, the year and a link back to the binder it came from. The report itself no longer needs a setting switched on.
- v3.25.70
Form 8825, rendered on the form
Your property figures laid out on the real IRS Form 8825, a column per property, in form order. It renders the Property Report's own subtotals rather than deriving its own, so the two views cannot disagree.
- v3.25.70
Applying a tax template restores groups, not just categories
Every template apply read tax groups off the template and then wrote only categories, so groups were dropped without a word - from an .xlsx, from the firm library and from a prior year alike. Groups now land with the categories, so firms that have applied templates for years will find the next one more complete than they are used to.
- v3.25.70
2026 Form 8825 follows the December 2025 form
The IRS renumbered Form 8825 in Rev. December 2025 and the 2026 export maps were still on the 2018 layout, so every line from 8 down was wrong - including two the new form marks reserved. Gross rents, interest, legal, taxes, repairs and other now export to the right lines. Tax year 2025 and earlier keep the 2018 layout, which is correct for those years.
- v3.25.70
K-1 interest and dividends get their own lines
A 1065 K-1 sync had nowhere to route partnership portfolio interest and dividends, so both were reported inside box 1. They now map to lines 5 and 6, and box 1 carries ordinary business income alone.
- v3.25.70
A K-1 sync that cannot run says so
Syncing a 1120 or 1041 binder wrote an empty K-1 card defaulted onto the wrong schedule. Tallyfor now asks whether a mapping exists for the binder's form type before it starts, and refuses with a message. An empty trial balance or a missing link is stated too, rather than a sync that appears to succeed and does nothing.
- v3.25.70
Sync Now uses the trial balance in front of you
Sync Now could read the current trial balance, compute its net income, and then discard it for a figure held in the link's last-sync snapshot - possibly months old - while still reporting success and marking the link current. It now uses what it just read.
- v3.25.70
The first journal entry in a binder saves
A binder that had never held a journal entry had nowhere to write one, so Add Entry produced no entry, no error and no toast - permanently, in that binder. The journal is now created on the first entry.
- v3.25.70
Removing a member leaves no empty row
Revoking a member blanked the record instead of removing it, so the Team page kept a row with no name in it and nothing recorded the removal. The removal is now stored - who was removed, by whom, and when - and the row is gone. A blank profile photo no longer renders as a broken image.
August 2026
- v3.25.69
Undo a per-property import
A per-property import replaces that property's accounts, so the wrong file dropped on the wrong property used to be unrecoverable. The import bar now carries an Undo with a five-minute countdown that restores the trial balance and the property list exactly as they were - including removing a property the import created.
- v3.25.69
Roll a multi-property binder forward
This year's per-property trial balances go in through the Multi-Property panel, and each file now matches the property that carried forward instead of minting a second one beside it. The whole-binder Import is greyed out on a rolled-forward multi-property binder, and a property the rollforward doesn't have is added only after you say so.
- v3.25.69
Workpapers open at the speed of the second look
Every click on a spreadsheet workpaper used to re-convert it to PDF - about six seconds, every time, including going back to one you had just read. The render is now kept, so only the first view waits.
- v3.25.69
K-1 box 1 no longer counts interest twice
Ordinary business income was derived from the whole Revenue section, and separately-stated interest income was found inside that same set - so interest landed in box 1 and box 5 both. Box 1 is now net of what is stated separately, and the preview card shows only a figure it actually computed.
- v3.25.69
The Property Report renders again
A binder whose accounts stored one of the two property-id forms drew a blank report even with properties plainly toggled on. The report now matches either form on both sides.
- v3.25.68
Build a multi-property binder from one file per property
Property-management systems export a separate trial balance per property rather than one stacked file, and there was no way to build a binder from those. Drop them on the Multi-Property panel - several at once - and Tallyfor reads each property's name from the file's own header, previews the plan before writing, and places each property at the next free Form 8825 column. Re-importing a property updates it in place.
- v3.25.68
Tax exports leave out zero-balance accounts
Only some exports dropped them, so a file could arrive carrying empty Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable rows for the preparer to delete by hand. Every export now drops an account whose balance rounds to zero. Per-property Form 8825 metadata is untouched - zero personal-use days is a real number.
- v3.25.68
Tallybot's M-1 work survives a re-import
A plain smart import used to leave the M-1 reallocation behind. It now re-runs, so a fresh trial balance doesn't quietly cost you the book-to-tax work already done on the binder.
- v3.25.66
Properties come only from you
A manual trial balance import could invent properties out of account-name suffixes and code fragments, turning "Repairs & Maintenance - Parts/Supplies" into a Parts/Supplies property. That guesswork is gone. Properties come from the Property Manager, an explicit property column, or your Xero and QuickBooks tracking categories.
- v3.25.66
Deleting a property releases its accounts
Removing a property - or shrinking a binder's property count - now unlinks every account mapped to it, so accounts no longer point at a property that doesn't resolve. Balances and tax categories are untouched.
- v3.25.66
A blank-looking row no longer blocks an import
A row holding nothing but an account type isn't an account, so it's dropped instead of failing the file. And when an account name really is missing, the error names the row - its type, its amount, and the account above it - rather than an empty list.
- v3.25.65
Finalize includes every document you selected
Binder assembly used to decide what to include from a document's name, so an attachment renamed the way workpapers are named was dropped without a word. Tallyfor now reads the file itself, images are placed as a page, and anything that can't be included is named on screen instead of leaving quietly.
- v3.25.65
Photos and scans open in the viewer
JPG, PNG, WEBP and HEIC attachments now render in the Document Viewer with the full annotation toolbar, instead of a blank panel - and a small receipt stays its own size. Files we can neither display nor assemble - .zip, .ppt, .pptx - are refused at upload rather than accepted and dropped later.
- v3.25.63
Account types checked on API imports
An account typed "Liability" instead of "Liabilities" used to import on a 200 and then vanish from the balance sheet. API and MCP imports now translate the QuickBooks and Xero vocabulary, and refuse a type they can't place with an error naming the account.
- v3.25.61
Financial consolidation for mixed entity types
Consolidation groups now have a type. Financial combines entities of any return type at 100% into the parent's binder, with intercompany eliminations and no 1120-only restriction.
- v3.25.61
See what a saved tax template maps
Expand a template in your firm's library to read every account and the tax category it lands on, plus who added it and who changed it last.
- v3.25.61
Consolidation lists every client you can see
The member picker drew on a narrower client list than the Clients page, so an entity you could plainly see wasn't always selectable. It now uses the same list.
- v3.25.60
Tax Template Library
Save a tax mapping to your firm's library once, then pick and apply it to any binder in-app, replacing the download-and-re-upload round trip.
- v3.25.60
Roll forward from a prior binder
Apply a client's prior binder mapping to the current binder in place. The picker lists that client's other binders on the same form, newest first.
- v3.25.60
Tax templates are not an AI feature
The Tax Automation settings page and the binder Template button are available to every firm. Only the AI Auto-Tax tier requires the AI add-on.
- v3.25.59
Sign-in tells you which provider to use
Clicking the wrong sign-in button used to produce a dead end that named no provider and pointed at a setting you can't reach while logged out. The message now names the provider your email actually signs in with.
- v3.25.59
Finalize completes on binders with Excel workpapers
Binder assembly could stop with an "unreadable or corrupted" warning about a spreadsheet Tallyfor generated itself. The fault was in the file-conversion step rather than the document, and finalize now runs through.
- v3.25.58
Collapse a trial balance section
Each account-type header — Assets, Liabilities, Equity, Revenue, Expenses — now has a chevron that folds the section away, so you can get to Expenses without scrolling past everything above it. Reports and exports are unaffected.
- v3.25.56
Finalize names the document that's blocking it
A password-protected or unreadable PDF used to leave binder assembly on a spinner indefinitely. Locked PDFs are now refused at upload, and finalize names the offending file so you know exactly which one to replace.
- v3.25.56
Kickstart imports show their progress
Setting up a client from QuickBooks Online or Xero can take a few seconds on a large org. A spinner now stays up until the binder appears, instead of a frozen clients list that read like a hang.
- v3.25.56
Accurate Xero connection status
Multi-Property binders could report a Xero token as missing next to a working connection, and offer to disconnect it. The panel now reads the stored token correctly.
- v3.25.54
Binder attachments open in the side panel
Excel and PDF files attached at the binder level now open in the right-side panel — click the document name. Excel opens editable in the live spreadsheet, PDFs read-only.
- v3.25.50
QuickBooks and Xero onboarding
The connect-your-books modal no longer gets stuck when setting up a new client from QuickBooks Online or Xero.
- v3.25.49
Sub-account codes read from account names
Trial balances that put a roll-up code in the account-number column and the real code inside the account name — AppFolio exports, flattened QuickBooks files — now import with the deepest child code recovered automatically.
- v3.25.48
Sectioned trial balances
Import a QuickBooks-style trial balance where the account type appears once as a section heading instead of on every row. Tallyfor finds the sections and applies them to the accounts underneath.
- v3.25.48
Account types recognised however you write them
ASSET, Current Assets, Bank, Credit Card, Income, Cost of Goods Sold — case, punctuation, plurals and qualifiers no longer matter. Accounts land in the right section instead of Unknown.
- v3.25.48
Single-column trial balances
Files with one Balance column import correctly, parenthesised negatives included, split by account type. The same column can no longer be mapped to both Debit and Credit.
- v3.25.48
Import errors you can actually see
Failures now appear inside the import window, disabled buttons say what's missing, and switching client discards the previous file so one client's trial balance can't show up under another.
- v3.25.47
Clearer QuickBooks Online import dates
QBO reports income and expenses from the fiscal year start regardless of the start date you pick. The import card now explains this where you choose the dates, and End date is labelled "as of".
July 2026
- v3.25.44
Self-service SSO setup
Set up SAML single sign-on yourself — import your identity provider's metadata to fill the connection, verify your domains by DNS, and test before you save. Enforcement stays locked until a real sign-in succeeds, so a bad config can't lock your firm out.
- v3.25.41
Display Settings for binder views
Every per-binder view control — CAS period and cadence, end-of-period date, Tax/Financial view, zero-balance accounts — now lives in one Display Settings popup, available from the moment a binder is created.
- v3.25.41
A more consistent interface
A consistency pass across modals, buttons, switches, and segmented pickers, so the same control looks and behaves the same wherever you meet it.
- v3.25.40
Permissions reliability
Teammates in a client-access group no longer land on an empty client list, and client-group settings repair themselves on your first visit to Permissions.
- v3.25.38
Permissions, redesigned

- v3.25.36

- v3.25.30
