Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies we use on tallyfor.com, what each one is for, and how you can change your mind at any time. It covers this marketing website. Our Privacy Policy describes how we handle personal data more broadly, including inside the Tallyfor application.
What these technologies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store. Cookies can be set by us (first-party) or by a third-party service we have chosen to load (third-party). We also use your browser's local storage, which works similarly but is not sent back to a server — we use it to remember the cookie choice you make below, so we do not have to ask you again on every page.
Related technologies such as pixels, tags, and web beacons work alongside cookies. Where this policy says "cookies", it means all of these.
Your choices
The first time you visit tallyfor.com, a banner asks whether you consent to analytics and advertising cookies. No analytics or advertising cookie is set until you say yes, and declining is a single click, exactly like accepting.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat that as declining advertising cookies before you are asked anything at all — see Global Privacy Control below.
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the Cookie Preferences link in the footer of every page. Your choice is remembered in your browser's local storage under the name tf_consent. Because it is stored in your browser rather than against your account, you will be asked again if you switch browsers or devices, or if you clear your site data.
Global Privacy Control
Some browsers and privacy extensions can send a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal on your behalf, which tells every site you visit that you do not want your personal information sold or shared. We honour it.
If your browser sends GPC, advertising cookies stay off on tallyfor.com and we do not ask you to reconsider. This holds even if you previously agreed to advertising cookies on this site, and even if you press "Accept" on our banner — the signal from your browser takes priority over the button, and we record your choice as declining advertising rather than accepting it. The banner tells you when this is happening.
GPC is an opt-out of the sale and sharing of personal information, which is why we apply it to the advertising category. It does not by itself switch off first-party analytics, so the banner still asks about analytics separately and you are free to decline that too. We do not act on the older, largely abandoned "Do Not Track" browser setting, because browsers used to switch it on by default and it no longer reliably reflects anyone's intent.
The categories we use
1. Essential
These are required for the site to work and are always active. They do not track you across other websites and are not used for advertising. This category covers the record of your own cookie choice, and the booking tool on our Book a Demo page, which is loaded only on that page and only so that the form can find you a time on our calendar.
2. Analytics
These help us understand which pages people find useful and where they get stuck, so we can improve the site. We use Google Analytics 4 for this. Analytics cookies are set only if you consent.
3. Advertising
These measure how our advertising campaigns perform and allow our advertising partners to show you relevant ads elsewhere. We use LinkedIn and Meta (Facebook) for this. Advertising cookies are set only if you consent.
What we actually load
The table below lists every third-party service that can set a cookie or similar identifier on tallyfor.com. Cookie names and lifetimes are set by each provider and can change without notice on their side; the provider links give their current details.

We also load our typefaces from Google Fonts. Only the font files themselves are requested, and no cookies are set.
What happens if you decline
Declining is not a partial measure. If you decline advertising, the Meta pixel is never loaded, the LinkedIn tag does not fire, and advertising identifiers are stripped from any request that does reach Google.
If you decline analytics, Google Analytics does not store or read any cookie and cannot recognise you as a returning visitor. It may still receive a basic, cookieless signal that a page was viewed — no identifier, and nothing that builds a profile of you — which Google uses to estimate overall traffic. Everything on the site continues to work either way; nothing is withheld or degraded because you declined.

Blocking cookies entirely may affect how some parts of this site and the Tallyfor application behave. Beyond your browser, you can also:
- Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to opt out of Google Analytics on every site.
- Adjust Google My Ad Center and your LinkedIn advertising preferences.
- Use the industry opt-out pages run by the Digital Advertising Alliance and the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance.

Changes to this policy
If we add, remove, or change the purpose of a cookie, we update this page and the date at the top. If a change means the categories on the consent banner no longer match what you agreed to, we ask you again rather than relying on your earlier answer.
